I designed a breakfast and brunch menu with a premium but relaxed feel. I wanted the design to feel trendy without being pretentious, so I paired a typewriter-style typeface with a textured, uncoated card stock for an artisan finish.
I illustrated every spot graphic myself in Procreate using clean dot textures from True Grit brushes to build shading with an almost pop-art feel.
I created a staggered, asymmetric layout and positioned the illustrations to sit between sections to create visual interest and guide the eye down the page.
I built the final layout in InDesign so that, for a real business, prices and dishes could be amended quickly without disrupting the design, keeping the layout consistent through every update.
Finally, I used Photoshop for last curve and colour adjustments so the illustrations sit warmly against the paper tone and to create cohesion.
